The shadow dolls above came into being when the sunlight cast shadows from a vase of flowers across my work table, I simply traced the shadows straight onto the doll.
The pony above is a simple shape taken from my sketchbook, I wanted to mix a primitive folk painting feel with a pinch of my little pony kitsch.
The dolls above and below have simple faces inspired by ancient primitive cave paintings, I was also influenced by the graphic shapes, colours and characters found in the paintings of Joan Miro and Paul Klee.
