Im having a huge final sale in my big cartel shop A change of circumstances means I need to sell as much as possible as soon as possible. I will have limited time to work on my art for the foreseeable future so this could be a last opportunity to own an original piece at such brilliantly reduced prices. Thank you for your support.

Working through half term

Two of the children came back from their Dads yesterday, Sadie is travelling with him to Glasgow to visit her Grandmother. So the house is reasonably quiet, it’s amazing what a difference it makes just removing one child from the equation. I had worked flat-out over the weekend to get as much done as possible, my brainstorming session has left me with a long to do list!!

I have nearly finished my first batch of hair bands and started listing them on Etsy today. I also listed a couple of paintings. Once items are made and packaging decided upon I then start the marathon task of photographing it all. I cleared the top of a small chest of draws in the kitchen and added white paper, this is my best natural light source. Inspired in part by a box of little toys from my childhood I decided to set up miniature scenes for all my little accessories using these dolls house toys as props. I also persuaded Rosie to model for me, she was great although I had to work extremely fast as she was bored after about fifteen minutes!

New Shop New Dolls!!

Today I have launched my new shop with these fantastic new dolls, I love them so much I felt they deserved a whole shop to themselves (for now anyway!) They have button jointed linen bodies and fixed outfits constructed from a variety of new and vintage fabrics, wool felt, silk ribbons, vintage lace & buttons. Each doll has their own character, I plan to add a Fox, wolf, Duck and polar bear in the following weeks so keep checking for updates. I finished them late saturday night and they traveled to London with Sadie and I on Sunday for the Bust Craftacular where they received an amazing welcome to the world, and they are now waiting to find their new homes. I also have some lovely new dolls for my Etsy shop that I will post about later today.

A last couple of shots of the Bust Craftacular yesterday, it was too busy for me to leave the stall and get any other shots, so this is Sadie and I setting up at the beginning of the day. It was an exhausting trip with little time to really get a feel for the event and although sales on the day were not great the interest in my work was, I met a lovely journalist who wants to do a magazine feature on my work in January so that should be interesting, I have two art shows in the new year so will be starting work for those very soon now that my Christmas dolls are completed for Etsy and my lovely new shop is open.
